1. Who is responsible

The MarginHow website operator, based in the European Union, is responsible for the limited personal data described in this policy.

2. Calculator entries stay in your browser

The numbers and options you enter into the calculator are processed on your device. MarginHow does not ask you to create an account and does not send or store your calculator entries on a MarginHow database.

Please do not enter names, email addresses, order numbers or other personal information into calculator fields. They are intended only for prices, costs, rates and quantities.

3. Technical and analytics data

Like most websites, our hosting and security provider may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, requested page, referring page, timestamp and security signals.

MarginHow uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregated visits, referral sources, countries, devices and site performance. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting to collect usage metrics.

4. Why this data is processed

Technical and aggregated analytics data is used to make the website available, keep it secure, diagnose problems, understand general usage and improve performance. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating, protecting and improving a free online service.

5. Service provider and international transfers

MarginHow is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as a service provider for website delivery, security and analytics. Cloudflare may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in its privacy and data protection documentation.

6. Retention

MarginHow does not retain calculator entries. Technical and analytics information is kept only for as long as needed for site delivery, security, troubleshooting and aggregated measurement, according to the applicable Cloudflare service settings and retention practices.

7. Cookies

MarginHow does not currently use advertising cookies, marketing cookies or a cookie-based analytics service. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary technologies when required to provide security or network functionality. If we add a feature that requires consent, this policy and the website controls will be updated before that feature is used.

8. Sharing and selling

MarginHow does not sell personal data. Technical data is shared only with service providers needed to operate and protect the website, or when disclosure is required by law.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and to receive information about how personal data is handled. Because MarginHow does not create user accounts or store calculator entries, we may not be able to connect aggregated analytics data to an individual visitor.

10. Children

MarginHow is a business calculation tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through accounts, forms or calculator entries.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when MarginHow adds features, changes providers or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will show the latest revision.
